SPECIALTY and HOLIDAY Items


We have creations that defy category; some are available only during certain holidays. Therefore, we have added them to this catch-all page. We will add to this page as necessary.

Apple Crisp – We hold the recipe for the most authentic, rich-tasting, non-filler apple crisp around! There are no nuts or oats to fill our crisp; only loads of apples (usually McIntosh, but sometimes we will throw others in for fun), rich butter, brown sugar and spices. We double the topping, so that you get copious amounts of it with every bite of apple! This is a comfort food that stands above all others in the autumn and winter seasons.

Spiced Pecans - One of Dirk's specialties! He takes buttery pecans, sautées them in a pan with Moroccan spices and brown sugar and other delicious ingredients. Then he toasts them to a crisp doneness. The result satisfies both sweet and salty cravings. Yum...

Buche de Noël – During the holidays, La Petite Bulle's kitchens are busy making the traditional Buche De Noël, a la French tradition. A vanilla- or chocolate-flavored log roll cake is filled with liqueur-flavored whipped cream, then frosted with our classic buttercream topping. Decorative pieces over the beautiful Buche give the cake a ‘log branch' look for the holiday season.

Shortbreads - Christmas and Chanukah are both enhanced when you add our butter-rich shortbreads to the mix! We can also arrange to dip half of the shortbreads in chocolate. We don't mean just any chocolate. We use only the best from a variety of our preferences: single-beans when we can get them, but always a dark, rich, reliable chocolate melted with butter to give the best coating ability.

Spiced Noël Logs - These are a holiday favorite which combine cozy nutmeg with rum flavored frosting. We make our cookies lovingly by hand, which means they are not of a uniform shape and size. Every one of them is delicious, though. So if you wanted to tell a little white lie, you could probably suggest that you made them yourself. We won't tell anyone!

Torta Babettina - This torte was inspired by hours of experimentation in the kitchen. There are three layers of pastry; one is a nut flour meringue. The other two are puff pastry layers, lovingly made by hand in our kitchens! We add homemade buttercream, flavored with your choice of vanilla bean, chocolate or maple. Another layer of liqueur-flavored whipped cream adds to the decadence. This is a four-star dessert! Reserve it to round off your most fabulous meals and parties. This is a favorite around the holidays, so please place your order early. PLEASE NOTE when placing your order that this recipe calls for a three-day advance notice; possibly more between November and January.
